If you’re planning to rent a car and drive in Lebanon, here are key rules and requirements to keep in mind:
- Drive on the right-hand side of the road
- Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers
- Carry a valid UAE driving license and International Driving Permit (IDP)
- Mobile phones may only be used with a hands-free device
- Children under 10 must be seated in the back seat
- Speed limits(varies by signage):
• Urban areas: 50 km/h
• Rural roads: 80 km/h
• Highways: 100 km/h - Toll roads are uncommon, but parking fees apply in city areas
- Always keep your vehicle registration, insurance, and ID with you

- Offer is valid for bookings and car pick-ups till 31st March 2026
- To qualify, reservations must be made using Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number D324600.
- Discount applies to Avis Romania self-drive car rentals only.
- All discount offers are subject to mandatory surcharges for the full rental duration.
- Minimum advance booking period of 24 hours is required to avail the offer.
- Maximum rental length is 27 days.
- Offer valid on all car groups, subject to availability at time of booking.
- Offer restrictions may apply at certain times in certain locations.
- Blackout dates may apply.
- Prices vary by season and by Avis locations.
- Rates quoted are rates after discount.
- Discount applies to the rental charge for the vehicle only.
- Discount does not apply to fees for optional extras (such as special equipment, additional drivers, optional coverage or pre-paid fuel) nor to mandatory taxes, young driver surcharges, premium location fees, pay-on-return fuel charges, one-way fees or accident, damage or theft processing fees.
- If any other AWD number is present in the rental booking, no discounts will be awarded.
- If any other AWD number is present in a customer’s Avis Preferred profile and this is used in the rental booking, no discounts will be awarded and once booked, this cannot be reversed.
- Renters must meet standard Avis age, driver and credit requirements.
- This offer is not valid for bookings of chauffeur-drive services, travel industry staff rates, replacement or insurance rates, selected association programmes, monthly rentals, award rentals and nett rate.
- Offers may not be used in conjunction with any other discount, promotion or offer other than those valid on this website and are subject to availability.
