Tax: VAT of 5% will be applicable on all invoices related to rental and related services that are generated from 1st January 2018 or any part of the service/invoice fall within/after the 1st January 2018, irrespective of the booking confirmation made earlier. Toll Gate System (SALIK): Toll gate fee is charged at AED 6 per crossing.
The following documents are mandatory to rent a vehicle from AVIS UAE and must be presented physically at the counter,
• Valid Passport & Emirates ID.
• Valid Visa/Entry Documents (UAE entry stamp or visa page).
• Valid Driving license issued at least 1 year before the rental pick-up date.
• Valid International Driving Permit, where applicable, for Renters who are on UAE visit/tourist visa along with local driving licence.
• Valid Credit Card under the name of the renter for security deposit with minimum 03 months validity from the rental start date.
Important: For Renters who opt for delivery, the above-mentioned documents should be
emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org at least two hours prior to the scheduled delivery.
Credit Card Policies
We accept all major Credit Cards (MASTER, VISA, JCB, DINERS, AMERICAN EXPRESS
AND UNION PAY), Avis Charge Cards, Avis Vouchers or Corporate LPO(s), as method of payment(s).
Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) are accepted from companies who are already registered locally/internationally with AVIS UAE and meet all the required criteria.
Credit card should be valid for a minimum of 3 months from the day of Rental and must be physically available at time of vehicle collection. Please note that in all cases, DEBIT CARDS, PREPAID, RECHARGE, APPLE PAY, GOOGLE PAY or VIRTUAL CREDIT CARDS are not accepted as ‘security’.
Russian Bank credit cards: As advised by international credit and debit card issuers, we are temporarily not accepting credit/debit cards issued from Russia and/or Russian Banks.
In case of refunds, the customer has to provide another acceptable refund platform to Avis UAE subject to approval to process the refund.
Debit Card Policies
Debit cards are not accepted as a mode of security. We do accept debit cards only for payments.
Driver’s License and ID Requirements
a) Driver’s License
All drivers must have a valid driving license held for a minimum of one (1) year.
Physical Driving permit should be presented at the time of rental pick up and carried during your rental period.
b) UAE Residents
A valid UAE driving licence is a must.
Please note that driving without a valid UAE driving licence when on Residence or Employment Visa is a violation of the UAE Law & AVIS UAE will refuse to rent.
c) Non- UAE Residents
All non-UAE residents are required to hold a valid International Driving License along with their National Driving License, except drivers holding driver’s license from the following countries. Please visit the link UAE Government for on time updates.
** Israel local license is not valid to drive in UAE. It is mandatory for the customer to present a valid International Drivers Permit.

Public Liability and Property Damage
Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country. Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.
Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

Saturday and Sunday
Collection of your reserved vehicle
A vehicle pertaining to any reservation will be reserved for a maximum of 6 hours from its collection due date/time. Any collection after the mentioned 6 hours will be subject to availability.
The estimated cost of the rental, value added services and insurance charges are payable in advance.
A credit card is mandatory for any reservation, except in case of Full Credit Voucher. A Pre-authorization is taken at the time of rental which includes insurance excess amount and any unforeseen charges such as Fuel, Traffic Fines, Toll Gate Fees, Damage Charges etc. Pre-authorization amount on credit card is between AED 1600-5100, depending on rented car group.
AED 1600 will be held for group A, B, C, D, E & K,
AED 2500 will be held for group J and AED 5100 will be held for remaining groups F, G, H, I, L, M, N, O&P.
We keep pre-authorization amount until we receive confirmation regarding Traffic Fines and Toll Gate Fees from RTA (Roads and Transport Authorities). It may take up to 15-21 working days from the date of transaction to release the blocked amount (pre-auth) on the credit card.
Breakdown Recovery Service
In the event of a breakdown, please try to park in a safe and secure place. Try to know exactly where you are and contact the Call Centre on 800 AVIS (2847) or +971 4 330 7272. The service is available 24/7; fees vary depending on the location.
Repairs and Maintenance
All repairs and maintenance must be carried out only at AVIS workshops. Customer is fully liable for all damages and additional costs in case of own repair, changing parts of the vehicle or maintenance.
Use of the rented vehicle
AVIS vehicles are to be used for non-commercial passenger transportation only. Valet charges will apply for pet’s transportation or misuse of the vehicle. Only authorized drivers, stated on the rental agreement are allowed to drive an AVIS vehicle.
Additional Driver Policy
This is subject to AVIS UAE driver qualification and will be charged at AED 20 per day, AED 100 per week up to a maximum of AED 150 per month per additional driver.
After Hours Information
This is subject to AVIS down town locations which are not open 24 hours. For drop-off out of opening hours, the vehicle should be returned to any of the Avis Airport offices which are open 24 hours. The Renter can request for a car collection as per Collection terms at extra cost based on location.
Minimum age is 21 years old for groups A-E. For all other car groups minimum age is 25 years. There is no maximum age limit.
If you cancel your booking 72 hours prior to your vehicle pick up date/time no cancellation charges will apply and the amount will be refunded.
If you cancel your reservation within 72 hours prior to the rental pick up date/time shown in your booking, a fixed cancellation fee, similar 3-day rental amount will be applied.
Same condition will apply for reservations made and cancelled within 72 hours of the rental pick up date/time.
If you have rented for less than 3 days, no refund will be applicable.
There is no refund if the Renter fails to show up for a rental that has not been cancelled prior to the pick-up date/time.
Collecting and Returning Your Vehicle
The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours) with a maximum grace period of 29 minutes from the elapse of the term agreed. In the event of the late return of vehicle exceeding the grace period, AVIS UAE reserves the right to make an additional daily charge at the prevailing rate, including fees for the options taken for each day.

• Delivery and Collection within the city limits of same emirate where the reservation made will be AED 75.

One Way Rentals
A one-way drop-off fee is applicable when renting a vehicle in one emirate/city and dropping it off in another emirate/city within the UAE. Charges depend on the type of vehicle rented and the city limit.

• Vehicles cannot be driven and/or dropped off outside the United Arab Emirates without prior approval and consent of AVIS UAE.
FROM Ruwais TO Dubai/Sharjah: AED 500
FROM Ruwais TO Abu Dhabi: AED 300
FROM UAE TO Omen (except Salalah): AED 2,000
FROM UAE TO Salah: AED 3,000
A surcharge of AED 50 is applicable, over and above the traffic fine as a handling administration fee.
As a standard, AVIS UAE has a full-to-full fuel policy. This means that customers are expected to return the car with a full tank of fuel. Service charges apply when a customer miss refuelling the vehicle before return.
AVIS UAE offers customers the option of Advance Fuel Purchase. This is a convenient way to avoid the hassle of looking for a fuel station to top up and prevent any penalties during off-
hire. Simply opt for the Pre-Paid Fuel and return the vehicle with the fuel level of choice and avoid any impact on the final invoice. There is no refund on unused fuel.
A surcharge is applicable for all rentals (pick up as well as drop off) at any airport locations in the UAE. This surcharge is applicable only once per rental. A surcharge of AED 50 applies for rentals at Dubai International Airport (Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3), Abu Dhabi Airport & Sharjah Airport.
AED 25.00 at Al Maktoum Airport in the UAE.
Vehicle Registration Fee
A fee of AED 5 per day or maximum AED 75 per month will be applied to each rental.
Valeting charges will be applied if the Vehicle is returned in a condition that requires specialized cleaning (Example: Sand or mud particles found in the car, pet hair on the seats, tea, coffee, or any other edible items staining the car seats and interior, etc.), Charges would be estimated by the workshop depends on the labour and required material costs and minimum valet charge would be AED 250. If the car is returned with an extremely dirty exterior, there will be a charge of AED 50 as valet charges.
Tire Replacement Service Charge
A surcharge of AED 100.00 will be charged, over and above the tire repair costs or applicable excess, as a handling administration fee.
Tint Film Removal
A fee of AED 100 will be charged if the rented vehicle is returned with tinted film on the windows.
Rent a car vehicle cannot have tint film on the windows as per UAE law. Renter is liable to bear fine costs and admin fee in the case that tint film is placed on the rented vehicle.
Non- Smoking Charges
Avis operates a non-smoking fleet. Vehicles returned with smoke or unacceptable odor will require a full valet and as such a fee of 500 AED shall be chargeable to the customer.
Damage Repair Service Charge
A fee of AED 75 per accident will be charged as an accident handling administration fee, over and above the damage repair costs or applicable excess.

Baby / Child / Booster Seat
Baby / Child seats are subject to availability at all AVIS rental offices at an additional cost of AED 35 per day, AED 210 per week and AED 300 per month. Advance notification of 72 hours is required. Damaged Baby/Child/Booster Seat will be charged AED 550.
GPS / Navigation System
GPS rental is subject to availability at all AVIS rental locations at an additional cost of AED 50 per day, AED 250 per week and AED 450 per month. Advance notification of 72 hours is required.
Lost or damaged GPS
AED 1000 charge applies.
Taking Your Vehicle Outside the Country
Cross Border Rentals to Sultanate of Oman
Vehicles are allowed to be driven out of United Arab Emirates to Oman strictly through
request bookings via AVIS UAE Call Centre with advance notification of 72 hours.
Cross border rentals are subjective to a mileage limitation/cap of 250km a day and excess
mileage charge of AED 1/- per kilometre **irrespective of the open mileage terms specified under domestic rental and online booking terms.
Confirmation is subject to insurance approval and fleet availability. Original No Objection Certificate (NOC) and Oman Insurance must to be collected from the assigned AVIS UAE rental locations for verification at the border. AVIS UAE shall not be liable for any charges or compensations for cross border restrictions from authorities.

Waiver and Insurance Options
The Waivers and Insurance options does not cover acts of sabotage, terrorism, flood, storm, hurricane, volcanic eruption, earth quake or other convulsions of nature, invasion act of foreign enemies, hostilities or warlike operations whether war be declared or not civil war, strike, riot, civil commotion mutiny, rebellion, revolution insurrection military or usurped power, confiscation or nationalization, reckless and drunken driving (under the influence of alcohol and / or any other substance).
In case of an accident, UAE Law states not to move the car until a police/accident report has been obtained. Failure to do so may result in the Renter being responsible for the damages. A Police report is a MUST in order for the Insurances (CDW / SCDW / Motor Liability Insurance / PAI) to be covered. Off Road driving is not covered with Insurance, Renter is fully liable for any damage and additional costs.
1) CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
This is a mandatory insurance. The renter will be responsible for an excess between AED 1500 and 5000. If declined, for any reason, the renter will be responsible for full damage amount. Terms & Conditions apply. Charges depend on the type of vehicle rented. In case of any accidents and additional damages, a police report must be obtained by contacting the local authorities. Limitation of liability shall apply to damage to the rental vehicle, its parts and accessories caused in a road accident. CDW limits renter's financial responsibility to Excess Amount stated on the Rental Agreement. In any case, CDW DOES NOT COVER damage if the vehicle was driven by unauthorized driver or by authorized driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, damage to the interior of the vehicle, tire and wheel damage, windscreen, wheel cover and rims, damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle, broken or lost key, lost or damage car documents, contamination of fuel, either in the event of deliberate intention or negligence.
2) SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver)
This is an optional insurance, sold in addition to the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance. By accepting this, the renter is reducing the liability for damages to ZERO. Terms & Conditions apply. SCDW Charges depend on the type of vehicle & rental duration. Police report must be obtained by contacting the local authorities. In any case, SCDW DOES NOT COVER damage if the vehicle was driven by unauthorized driver or by authorized driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, damage to the interior of the vehicle, windscreen, tire and wheel damage, wheel cover and rims, damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle, broken or lost key, lost or damage car documents, contamination of fuel, either in the event of deliberate intention or negligence.
3) PAI (Personal Accident Insurance)
This is an optional insurance for the driver and the passengers, in respect of death or bodily injury whilst in the vehicle during the rental. Terms & Conditions apply.
Intentional self-injury / attempted suicide, physical / mental defect, or infirmity. An accident happening while the driver person is under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs. The number of passengers (including the driver) should not exceed the seating capacity as stated in the schedule of the policy at the time of the accident. Diya Money (blood money) will be decided by a court of law based on the incident.
Claims are subject to UAE Courts approval.
4) WS (Windscreen Damage Waiver)
This is a coverage option that covers damages caused to the windscreen of Avis UAE vehicle (front, back and side windows only). Terms & Conditions apply.
5) RSN (Roadside Safety Net)
This is a coverage option that covers any non-mechanical breakdown while the Renter has the vehicle. Roadside safety net is a coverage that is meant to assist the Renter for services while they are on the road or during the time of the rental. Services included:
Towing, replacement of flat tires, refuelling service, lost key replacement, jump starts. This product does not include coverage for negligence, when Renter has not refuelled the vehicle with the right type petrol vs non-leaded and has caused damage to the vehicle- we will tow the vehicle but the damage to the engine is not covered.
6) TC (Tire Cover)
This is a coverage option that covers flat or damage tire. Renter will not pay tire charge. Terms & Conditions apply.
